What Is the Recovery from Rhinoplasty Like?

You’ll have your rhinoplasty in our state-of-the-art surgical center, with a combination of numbing medication and TIVA anesthesia, which will allow you to sleep through the experience. As with every aspect of your care, your comfort and safety will be our highest priority.

During the first week of your recovery from rhinoplasty, you’ll wear a nasal cast that will help reduce swelling and bruising. For most patients, the biggest hurdle is stuffiness, not pain. Some people go back to work within 48 hours of their surgery, while other patients take the full week to heal.

We’ll see you back at Omni Cosmetic for several follow-up visits. To help in your recovery, we will show you how to do a fingertip massage, and we’ll recommend sprays or decongestants to improve your healing time. While swelling can take up to a year to subside fully, you can expect to see the most noticeable changes from your rhinoplasty within three months: a physical identity that’s more in line with your aesthetic goals.
